Description

This is the latest in engineering that combines the powerful benefits of wireless coded orothangal frequency division multiplication (COFDM) technology into a form factor that’s perfect for body worn use in undercover, as drone downlink and tactical operations. Its thin profile of just 0.66 inches makes this transmitter thinner than most popular micro DVRs, allowing for easy concealment and minimal imprinting.

The sleek design is not the only feature included to address the specific needs of body-worn use. Built-in power out module provides a selectable 5, 9 or 12VDC output capable of powering nearly any board or micro style camera. This power output eliminates the need for additional power sources. Integrated into the video input lead are two highly sensitive Knowles brand microphones that work to produce a crystal clear, dynamic audio signal to the degree, that some opt to use this transmitter simply as an audio body-wire.

Designed to withstand the rigors of body-worn use, the transmitter is constructed of aircraft grade aluminum which results in a weight of just 8.28 ounces, again making it very useful a drone downlink system. Media, data and power connections are done via mil-spec LEMO brand connectors that produce a signature click to confirm a solid connection. The LEMO locking mechanism eliminates worries of an accidental disconnection. Onboard command switches used to manipulate various transmitter features are machined into a depressed well which prevents unintentional changes during critical operations.

Wireless transmission range is up 2.6 miles even when using standard rubber-whip antennas (see range report for the further details and test examples). This noteworthy performance is due to the benefits of COFDM technology which harnesses all RF reflections, however faint. Being able to render audio & video with RF reflections makes this COFDM transmitter ideal for non-line-of-sight scenarios common to urban and mountainous environments.

Additionally, the included receiver with this system has a built-in dual diversity antenna array and onboard processors are continuously hunting for the best possible signal. With its advance processors, transmission bandwidth can be up to 8MHz, yield 704 x 480 resolution at 30 frames per second…with an ultra low latency of just 43 milliseconds. To accommodate varying RF needs, bandwidth is adjustable from 8MHz, 7MHz and a low 6MHz. Also adjustable are video frame rates, resolution and audio sampling rates.

For static operations this system can be configured to transmit telemetry data to control PTZ cameras making this an excellent transmitter for use in discrete pole cameras and drop cars. For advance operators digital I/O ports also allow for remote control of various electronic devices such as vehicles, illumination, alternate power sources, etc… Proprietary compression algorithms provide a high a degree of information security. Layered on top of the compression is a standard AES 32 bit encryption code.

For those who need even more security, custom versions are available with AES 128 and 256 levels.
