How It Works
Speech creates tiny vibrations in the surrounding structure. The two MANTIS MEMS accelerometers detect those vibrations at the surface and the amplifier converts them into intelligible stereo audio.
Because each sensor has a dedicated channel and balance control, the operator can adjust the left and right inputs independently. Moving or repositioning the sensors can help identify the strongest listening points and provide a better sense of where speech originates relative to the sensor placement.

Remote Monitoring Integration
MANTIS has two simultaneous stereo line-level outputs. One can support local monitoring while the second feeds a compatible recorder, radio audio link or cellular transmitter. This lets MAXSUR configure an end-to-end kit for command-post monitoring, recording or secure cellular backhaul without sacrificing the onsite operator's audio feed.
Sensor Placement
Surface coupling is essential. Place each accelerometer firmly against the barrier, listen for the strongest speech energy and compare nearby positions. The independent left and right balance controls allow the operator to compensate for differences between the two contact points.
For longer-duration or covert monitoring, the supplied threaded spikes can secure the accelerometers to suitable wood or metal surfaces. The included hammer adapter supports quick mounting, while an appropriate pilot hole can be prepared in harder compatible materials by trained personnel.
