The Hornet system combines a micro digital audio recorder with a secure digital transmitter, built for teams that need dependable evidence capture in real-world field conditions—especially where interference, distance, or mission tempo can’t be controlled.

To support compliance scenarios involving confidential informants, Hornet uses a two-stage power approach: if the external 6-hour battery is disconnected, the system automatically engages an internal battery for continued operation (per system design).
The included receiver is based on an ICOM R6 platform with an integrated decryption module and a user-selectable option for receiving legacy analog transmitters (per system configuration). Reported performance is up to ~2 miles line-of-sight depending on environment and antenna selection. Transmission security is described as dual-layer encryption (per manufacturer specification).
