Mantis III Digital Thru-Wall Stereo Mic System w/Built-in Recorder
Mantis Thru-Wall Stereo Stethoscope is designed to intercept conversations through walls making it perfect for covert surveillance being conducted in hotels, offices, etc. It’s also an excellent tactical tool for entry teams, standoffs and recovery operations post natural disasters. Undetectable by the human ear, the included accelerometers (microphones) amplify micro vibrations that naturally occur on walls and construction of all types, when someone is speaking. In essence, the accelerometers turn ordinary construction into giant microphones. The result is high definition, stereo audio and methods can even be employed to provide approximate audible location of the speaker.
Each accelerometer has a dedicated audio channel and a balance control for each. A secondary audio output provides for simultaneous monitoring with headphones and connection to common audio recorders for gathering evidence.
Thru-wall microphone system includes two accelerometers (microphone heads), storage case, molle compatible case, operation guide and a one-year warranty. This system uses 4 alkaline AA batteries for a run time between 80 and 90 hours. Operation is simple and can be learned in minutes. For covert surveillance, MAXSUR recommends over-the-ear headphones and for tactical operations, ear buds or tactical communication units with auxiliary line-level inputs.
