What is the setup time?
With the latest Perimeter 8+ revision featuring folding arms and easy-lock arm mechanisms, typical setup time can be as fast as ~5 minutes from case to flight-ready (team proficiency dependent).
What type of fuel does it use?
The recommended fuel is 91 octane mixed with a 2-stroke oil mix per manufacturer guidance.
Is there extra maintenance with a hybrid drone compared to battery-only drones?
Yes—there is some additional engine-related maintenance, but it’s designed to be minimal and field-friendly. For example, an engine swap is straightforward and can typically be performed with common tools in under 20 minutes.
Do you offer training?
Yes. MAXSUR provides the level of training you need—from basic operator readiness to advanced mission profiles and team tactics. For existing public safety and defense drone teams, training needs are usually minimal and can often be completed in under two days. For teams with no or very light UAS experience, we typically recommend 1–2 week programs to build safe, compliant, mission-ready capability.
Can MAXSUR customize payloads, ground stations, and loadouts?
Absolutely. We can configure EO/IR PTZ ISR payloads, comms relay packages, mapping payloads (LiDAR/photogrammetry), and mission-specific ground control and datalink options to match your operational environment.
Is this a good alternative to manned aviation?
For many mission sets, Perimeter 8+ LRS can augment manned aviation by providing persistent coverage at lower operating cost, and it can serve as a practical alternative when manned air support is unavailable or not warranted for the mission.
